Responsibilities

• Develop and implement plans for the curriculum program assigned and show written evidence of preparation as required.
• Prepare lessons that reflect accommodation for individual student differences.
• Present the subject matter according to guidelines established by TEA, board policies, campus policies, and administrative regulations.
• Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media.
• Cooperate with other staff in planning and implementing instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
• Plan and supervise assignments for teacher aide(s) and/or volunteer(s).
• Utilize technologies in the teaching/learning process.
• Assist students in analyzing and improving methods and habits of study.
• Assess student progress and provide reports as required.
• Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned.
• Present a positive role model that supports the district mission.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to students.
• Establish classroom control and administer discipline per policies.
• Take precautions to protect students and property.
• Assist in selecting books, equipment and instructional materials.
• Maintain open communication with students and parents.
• Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, students, parents and community.
• Use effective communication to present information clearly.
• Participate in the district staff development program.
• Demonstrate initiative in professional development and integrity in conduct.
• Keep informed of regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
• Compile, maintain and file reports and records.
• Attend faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
