Job summary

Valley View Public School District #365U in Romeoville, IL, is seeking a full-time Middle School Science Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.

The teacher reports to the Building Principal and will plan lessons tailored to student needs, create a positive learning environment, and apply effective instructional methods to support student achievement. Eligible applicants hold the required Illinois PEL with Science Endorsement and may participate in co-curricular activities.

Qualifications

• Must hold Illinois PEL with Science Endorsement.
• 6–8 teaching experience preferred.
• Ability to diagnose, plan, assess student learning and maintain records.
• Knowledge of current teaching techniques, computers and multimedia.
• Ability to structure a classroom to maximize student learning.
• Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
• Willingness to participate in co-curricular program as sponsor or coach.

Duties

VACANCY : The Valley View Public School District is seeking an individual to fill a full-time Science teaching position for the 2026-2027 school year.
JOB SUMMARY : The teacher is responsible to the Building Principal for: Planning instructional lessons that meet the needs, interests and abilities of students; creating a classroom environment that is conducive to learning; and employing effective instructional techniques.

Qualifications

• Applicants must hold the appropriate State of Illinois (PEL) Professional Educator License with Science Endorsement
• Successful teaching experience (6-8 school level preferred)
• Demonstrated skill in diagnosing, prescribing, assessing student learning, and appropriate record keeping
• Knowledge of current teaching techniques, computers and multimedia
• Applicants must be able to structure a classroom to maximize student learning
• Applicants must be able to establish effective communication skills with a variety of stakeholders
• A commitment to the school program and philosophy
• Experience and willingness to participate in co-curricular program as sponsor, supervisor or coach
