Job summary

Paterson Public Schools is seeking a qualified science teacher with a New Jersey Middle School Science certificate to educate and supervise middle school students in a supportive classroom.

The ideal candidate will apply data-driven instruction, differentiate for diverse learners, and collaborate with staff and parents to ensure student growth and achievement consistent with state standards.

Qualifications

• Must hold New Jersey Middle School Science or any K-12 science certificate.
• Knowledge of the NJSLS and NJSLA.
• Provide learning experiences and supervision in a positive classroom climate.
• Differentiate instruction and use data to drive instruction.
• Collaborate with staff and parents of each child.
• Understand child growth and development and effective instructional strategies.
• Ability to analyze data to drive instruction.
• Experience with middle school students.
• Demonstrate integrity, good character and initiative.
• Computer literacy and ability to use interactive instructional software.
• Effective verbal and written communication with staff, students, parents, and the community.

• Assumes professional responsibility for providing learning experiences and supervision in a positive classroom climate.
• Strives to meet highly effective criteria for lesson plans, data-driven instruction, quality teaching, and addressing diverse learners through differentiation.
• Work collaboratively with other school staff and with parents of each child.

• Experience working with middle school students.
