Job summary

Louisiana Special School District is seeking a Middle School Science Teacher for the Louisiana School for the Deaf (LSD). This 9-month, 7.5 hours per day position will transition from Elementary to Middle School for the 2025-2026 year.

A Louisiana teaching certificate and 2+ years of teaching experience are preferred, with certification in deaf education encouraged. Advanced sign language proficiency is preferred.

Qualifications

• Louisiana teaching certificate and 2+ years of teaching experience, preferably with LSD students.
• Certification in deaf education preferred.
• Sign Language Proficiency - Advanced level preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan rigorous lessons aligned to college and career readiness standards.
• Deliver middle school science instruction at LSD with sign language accommodations.
• Use data and assessments to drive instructional decisions and interventions.
• Collaborate with team members and participate in school activities.
