Job summary

Whittier Middle School in Haverhill, Massachusetts seeks a Reading/Literacy Interventionist to support literacy across grades, align instruction with the ELA framework, and partner with teachers and the ELA Supervisor to accelerate student reading growth. This full-time position follows the August–June school year, with salary set on the teachers' salary scale according to education and experience.

A strong candidate will hold MA Reading Teacher certification and exhibit classroom intervention

Qualifications

• Certified as a Teacher of Reading by the Massachusetts Department of Education; SEI Endorsement required.
• Ed. in Reading preferred.
• Experience teaching in classrooms.
• Ability to collaborate with teachers to improve literacy.
• Knowledge of Massachusetts ELA/Literacy Framework.

Responsibilities

• Consult with classroom teachers on grouping, testing, student placement, and instructional strategies.
• Identify and select students based on data and input.
• Provide resources and ideas for assessment and instruction.
• Assist with progress monitoring for students needing interventions.
• Deliver Tier I–III reading interventions and progress through to remediation.
• Administer, score, and record progress on pre-post tests.
