Job summary

Orono Public Schools in Minnesota is seeking a dedicated Middle School Physical Education teacher for the second semester. You will implement best-practice strategies to engage students, foster teamwork, and promote an active, healthy lifestyle while supporting academic and social growth of middle learners.

You will collaborate with colleagues to design assessments, analyze data to target student needs, and participate in PLCs.

Qualifications

Minnesota PE teaching license required.
High level of content expertise in Physical Education.
Ability to support critical thinking and meaningful discourse in PE.
Experience working with middle level students preferred.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated collaboration and problem-solving abilities.
Experience with curriculum and assessment design.

Responsibilities

Implement best-practice teaching and learning strategies in Physical Education.
Collaborate with team members to support academic, social, and emotional growth of middle learners.
Work with teachers to design and coordinate common assessments and use data to target student needs.
Participate in PLC meetings and professional learning.
Implement MTSS tier 1 strategies in daily lessons.
Communicate with parents, colleagues, students, and administrators using available technology.
Uphold high standards for character development.
