SAU 39 is seeking a dependable Nutrition Worker to join the Amherst Middle School food service team. This role offers a school-based schedule with no nights, weekends, holidays, or summers, and works closely with the Chef-Manager to ensure efficient meal service and compliance with food safety standards.

The position involves assisting with breakfast and lunch preparation, maintaining a clean kitchen, and providing friendly service to students and staff in a fast-paced environment.

Position Summary

The Nutrition Worker supports daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, service, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This position works closely with the Chef-Manager to ensure efficient meal service and compliance with all food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation and service of breakfast food and beverages
• Support the Chef-Manager with meal prep for lunch service and future production
• Set up and assist with lunch line service, including serving students
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation in compliance with state and federal regulations
• Follow standardized recipes and portion control guidelines
• Provide friendly and efficient customer service to students and staff

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Ability to stand for extended periods (majority of shift)
• Frequent walking, bending, lifting, and reachingMust be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Work performed in a kitchen environment with varying temperatures
• Occasional travel to other schools within the district may be required

Experience in food service is preferred but not required we are willing to train the right candidate.
