Position: Middle School Mathematics - Leave Replacement Teacher
Position Summary: Ridgewood Public Schools seeks a Mathematics Teacher Leave Replacement at George Washington Middle School. The Middle School Mathematics Teacher will deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction that fosters conceptual understanding, problem-solving, and mathematical discourse while differentiating to meet diverse student needs. The role includes assessing student progress, using data to inform instruction, collaborating with colleagues, and contributing to a positive, equitable learning environment.
Responsibilities Include
- Plan and deliver rigorous, standards-aligned mathematics instruction that promotes conceptual understanding and problem-solving
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students
- Utilize a variety of formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and inform instruction
- Analyze student data to adjust teaching practices and support student growth
- Establish a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment that encourages student engagement and discourse
- Collaborate with colleagues in professional learning communities to ensure consistency in curriculum, pacing, and assessment
- Contribute to the development and refinement of common assessments and instructional resources
Working Conditions:
- Location: George Washington Middle School, Ridgewood Public Schools
- Full-time, permanent position, medical benefits and pension.
- Salary is $70,062 commensurate with education and experience as per negotiated contract.
- Start and End Dates: October 1, 2026, End Date: June 30, 2027

Other Requirements
- New Jersey Teacher Certification in Mathematics or Middle School Mathematics (appropriate grade-level endorsement)
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field from an accredited institution
- Experience teaching mathematics at the middle school level preferred
- Strong knowledge of middle school mathematics standards, curriculum, and instructional practices
- Ability to develop and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that support diverse learning needs
- Effective classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills
- Proficiency with educational technology and data-informed instruction
