Job summary

Back to Basics Learning Dynamics is seeking an in-person Middle School Math Tutor in Delaware for part-time daytime hours (8:00 AM – 2:00 PM EDT). You will provide small-group tutoring at local schools with flexible days and hours, and you do not need to cover all hours.

You will join an experienced tutoring team, helping students build math skills, confidence, and independence through creative, engaging instruction and structured progress documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of teaching or tutoring experience with middle school students.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to adapt instruction and manage small groups (4 students).

Responsibilities

• Provide small-group tutoring for middle school math in a live, in-person setting.
• Use engaging, creative approaches to make math relevant.
• Maintain accurate documentation of session progress and outcomes.
• Communicate with parents regularly and coordinate with students’ teachers.
• Adapt instruction to accommodate learners with differences.
• Meet students where they are and help build confidence and skills.

Position Description

We are seeking a part-time IN-PERSON Middle School Math Tutor to provide group tutoring instruction during school day hours. FLEXIBLE DAYS AND HOURS

Type: Part-time

Schedule: Flexible; We are looking for MATH tutors who can support small group tutoring between 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM EDT Monday through Friday. You DO NOT have to be available all 6 hours or all days. YOU WOULD BE PROVIDING TUTORING IN LOCAL SCHOOLS.

• What you’ll do:
• Provide small-group tutoring for instruction in middle school math in a virtual setting
• Use creative approaches to make the subject engaging and relevant
• Maintain accurate documentation of student's sessions and progress
• Communicate with parents regularly and the student's teacher as needed
• Adjust instruction techniques to accommodate students with learning differences
• Meet students where they are, build on what they already know, and help them move forward by developing the academic skills and confidence they need to succeed.

Your qualifications

1. A minimum of 2years of teaching or tutoring experience with middle school-aged students (excluding student teaching)
2. Bachelor’s degree required
3. Strong written and verbal communication skills
4. Ability to adapt lesson plans and teaching approaches based on student engagement, need, and skill levelAbility to manage student(s) in a small (4) group setting
