Ronald C. Wornick Jewish Day School in Foster City is seeking an experienced Middle School Math Teacher for a long-term substitute role (.40 FTE).

The position runs from October 26, 2026 through June 11, 2027, with hours 8:30–11:30, Monday–Friday, and a focus on building strong student outcomes in a progressive learning environment. The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Education or Math, a teaching credential or master’s, at least three years of formal teaching, familiarity with Common Core

Qualifications

• Degree in Education, Math, Science or closely related field.
• Teaching Credential and/or Master’s preferred.
• 3+ years formal teaching experience.
• Familiarity with Common Core Math standards.
• Strong content knowledge in pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry.
• Experience with Project Based Learning and progressive methods.

Responsibilities

• Teach 2 sections of Middle School Math (6th Grade and High School Geometry).
• Provide instruction based on student needs and differentiate accordingly.
• Design engaging, project-based lessons and assess progress frequently.
• Collaborate across grades and with parents; document progress.

Middle School Math Teacher — Long Term Substitute (Part Time .40 FTE). Hours: 8:30–11:30, Monday–Friday, beginning October 26, 2026 and ending June 11, 2027.Located in Foster City, Ronald C. Wornick Jewish Day School (TK–8) seeks an experienced Middle School Math Teacher to start October 26th; familiarity with progressive environments preferred.

Responsibilities

Teach 2 sections of Middle School Math (6th Grade and High School Geometry); provide instruction based on student needs; implement adopted programs; design engaging, Project-Based lessons; build positive relationships; differentiate and follow student learning plans; assess frequently and effectively; create lesson/unit plans under leadership; document and report assessments/progress; use multi-modal instruction and technology; support respectful school environment and policies; provide individualized work per plans; collaborate across grades; partner with parents; attend meetings and duties; exchange professional feedback.

Ideal Candidate

Compensation
