Job summary

ROCORI Public School District is seeking a middle school math teacher for a long-term substitute position from August 24, 2026 through November 6, 2026. The teacher will instruct grade-level math aligned with district and state standards.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Education or related field, a valid teaching certificate, and at least one year of public school instructional experience. Strong communication and planning skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Identifies pupil needs and assists with IEP development daily.
  • Supports administration in policy implementation and classroom order daily.
  • Communicates with parents via newsletters, notes, calls, and conferences daily.
  • Plans and coordinates work of teacher associates, parents and volunteers.
  • Maintains accurate records as required by policy and law.
  • Participates on school committees as needed.

Teacher - Middle School

Reports to: Building Principal

Department: Teacher

Works with: Students and Other Staff

Job Summary: Instructs students in Middle School math to grade level and district/state curriculum requirements.

This position is for a long-term substitute math teacher from August 24, 2026 through November 6, 2026.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Teaches District approved curriculum daily.
  • Develops lesson plans and instructional material and provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil daily.
  • Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
  • Translates lesson plans into developmentally-appropriate learning experiences daily.
  • Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
  • Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals daily.
  • Establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, etc. and communicates these objectives to students.
  • Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities daily.
  • Assists students in establishing and maintaining standards of behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere daily.
  • Evaluates students' academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records and prepares progress reports as appropriate and required.
  • Identifies pupil needs and makes appropriate referrals and assists in developing strategies for individual education plans daily as needed.
  • Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner daily as needed.
  • Communicates regularly with parents outside of the normal classroom day by various means such as newsletters, notes, phone calls, conferences, etc. daily as needed.
  • Plans, coordinates and supervises the work of teacher associates, parents and volunteers in the classroom and on field trips as needed.
  • Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulations.
  • Participates on school committees as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related.
  • Teaching certification in related field required.
  • Minimum 1 year successful educational and instructional experience in a public school setting.

Physical Requirements
  • Employee is continuously required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel, talk, and hear; frequently sits, stoops, kneels and/or crouches, reach with hands and arms in the performance of the job. Salary: The salary range for this position is $50,164 to $89,853 - dependent on education and experience.
