Job summary

Equitas Academy Charter Schools is seeking a credentialed Mathematics teacher to join a diverse, equity-minded team in Los Angeles. You will deliver instruction aligned to a rigorous curriculum and communicate with families about student progress, while upholding high expectations for academics and behavior.

The role emphasizes restorative practices, culturally responsive teaching, and collaboration with families, coaches, and leadership to support scholars in a thriving Pico-Union community.

Qualifications

• A current Single Subject Mathematics teaching credential (internship, preliminary, or clear) or out of state equivalent required
• A strong belief that all students can succeed
• Demonstrated experience and success working with students in low-income communities (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Deliver instructional materials based on our rigorous and aligned curriculum
• Communicate with families regarding behavior and academic progress
• Maintain high academic and behavioral expectations for students
• Demonstrate a warm demander style with scholars in the classroom and school community
• Approach class community building and repair with culturally responsive and restorative practices
• Start your day early and participate in team huddles and daily prep
• Attend IEP, SST, and 504 meetings as scheduled
• Engage in weekly professional development to refine school culture and academics
• Perform other duties to support students and the school community
