Maret is seeking an inspiring and engaging middle school math teacher who embraces diverse teaching and learning styles, appreciating this pivotal time in students' lives. The ideal candidate will foster curiosity, keen observation, and critical thinking, creating innovative lessons and designing curricula that meet the needs of students today and in the future. The teacher will be part of a collaborative team that values every community member.

Responsibilities include teaching math to three sections of sixth grade and one section of seventh grade, serving as an advisor to a group of middle school students, and planning community activities to support student growth. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to equity and inclusion. The position may include additional community responsibilities, with experience in computer science and coaching considered a plus. The role is supervised by the Chair of the Mathematics Department.

As a Teacher, The Successful Candidate Will

1. Have at least two years of experience teaching middle school mathematics.
2. Teach responsible citizenship and judicious use of technology related to math.
3. Exhibit excellent classroom management skills and enthusiasm for working with middle school students.
4. Be committed to professional development and interdisciplinary collaboration.
5. Show deep passion for teaching and enthusiasm for working with students of varying abilities.
6. Ability to create, curate, and organize differentiated instructional materials.
7. Hold a master’s degree (preferred).

Compensation begins at $70,000 for first-year teachers, with additional experience adding approximately $1,000 to $1,500 per year.
