Job summary

Excelsior is seeking an instructional leader to oversee the educational program in a charter school setting. You will align curriculum, instruction, and assessment to maximize student achievement and foster a safe, respectful climate.

You will collaborate with staff, parents, and the community to drive continuous improvement, develop strategic plans, and ensure high standards for diverse learners. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher and state teaching certification required.
• 2-year minimum experience teaching at the K-12 level.
• Math Endorsement K-12 or 6-12 is required or preferred.
• Understanding of child development principles and best practices in education.

Job description

Instructional position responsible for the educational leadership of students in a group or class in an innovative charter school. The educational leader is expected to understand and demonstrate the use of the school's curriculum, student instruction and assessment to maximize educational achievement for all students; work collaboratively to ensure a working and learning climate for all students that is safe, secure and respectful. Implementing strategies to reach the multiple intelligences of students through creative lessons is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher and state teaching certification
• 2-year minimum previous experience teaching at the k-12 level
• Math Endorsement K-12 or 6-12
• Understanding of child development principles and best practices in education and classroom management
• Knowledge of classroom health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and ability to closely adhere to the guidelines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
