Job summary

Voyager Academy in Durham, NC seeks a Middle School Literacy Coach to lead data-driven reading interventions for grades 4–8 and to act as an instructional coach for teachers. The role emphasizes collaborative planning, progress monitoring, and family communication to drive reading proficiency.

The candidate should hold a NC teaching license and a Master’s degree in Literacy or a related field, with at least five years of teaching experience and strong interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain a current NC teaching license.
• Master's Degree in Literacy, Curriculum and Teaching, or related field.
• At least 5 years of teaching experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted reading interventions (Tier 2/3) to grades 4–8.
• Serve as instructional coach and peer leader for literacy strategies.
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor progress and plan instruction.
• Develop lesson plans for small-group instruction and progress reports.
• Conference with parents and IEP/504 meetings as needed.
• Support Tier 1 literacy improvement and core instruction.
