At Equality Charter Middle School, the role of the classroo m teacher is intentionally designed to differ from that of many other schools. Teachers serve as the deans of their own classrooms, holding primary responsibility for both academic instruction and the social-emotional culture of their learning environment. Our program is structured to provide educators with the time, focus, and support needed to excel as core academic instructors while also serving as strong, consistent social-emotional leaders for their scholars. We deliberately minimize competing demands so teachers can build deep expertise in the foundational content areas that drive all learning, while also maintaining clear ownership over classroom routines, relationships, and expectations.
