Valley Catholic Middle School in Beaverton, Oregon, seeks an outstanding Middle School History & English Teacher to join the Humanities Department for the 2026-2027 school year. The assignment begins with 7th grade English support before transitioning to four sections of 7th grade History and one section of 7th grade English.

Qualifications

• Valid Oregon teaching license or ability to obtain licensure.

Middle School History & English Teacher - Full-Time

Valley Catholic Middle School seeks an outstanding educator to join our Humanities Department during the 2026-2027 school year.

About Valley Catholic Middle School

Valley Catholic Middle School is an independent Catholic school serving students in grades six through eight in Beaverton, Oregon. Since opening as a dedicated middle school in 2011, we have built a reputation for academic excellence, meaningful relationships, innovation, and educating the whole child.

As Oregon's only Cognia STEM-certified middle school, our students experience learning that extends beyond the classroom through research, writing, presentations, authentic problem-solving, and interdisciplinary learning. Teaching Assignment

Through the end of Semester 1 (January 2027):

• Serve in a 7th Grade English instructional support role, working alongside the Humanities or Spanish team and preparing for the transition to the permanent teaching assignment.

Beginning Semester 2 (January 2027):

• Four sections of 7th Grade History
• One section of 7th Grade English

This position provides an opportunity to inspire students through the study of history, literature, writing, research, culture, and critical thinking.

Salary Range:

$45,397 (Bachelor's Degree, Step 0) - $64,602 (Master's Degree, Step 7+), depending on education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current Oregon Teaching License or ability to obtain appropriate licensure
• Appropriate endorsement in Social Studies and/or Language Arts preferred
• Strong content knowledge in history, literature, and writing
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Passion for teaching and working with middle school students
