Job summary

Delmar School District is seeking a Head Softball Coach for the middle school program (grades 6-8). This seasonal role requires overseeing safety, paperwork, and compliance with league rules while coaching during practices and games.

The coach will enforce sportsmanship, manage eligibility criteria, and maintain professional standards in alignment with district policies. Collaboration with school staff and community involvement are expected throughout the season.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; advanced education preferred.
• CPR/AED certification required for head/assistant coaches.
• Interest and aptitude for coaching a sport.

Responsibilities

• Maintain attendance forms, insurance records and related paperwork.
• Oversee safety conditions of the facility during practices and games.
• Enforce discipline and sportsmanship; assign penalties for breaches.
• Adhere to all DIAA rules and school district policies.
• Represent the school and district in a professional manner.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

POSITION TITLE: Head Softball Coach

GRADES: Middle School (6-8)

STATUS: Seasonal

School Mission:

• Helps maintain necessary attendance forms, insurance records, and similar paperwork.
• Helps oversee the safety conditions of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at all times that students are present.
• Helps establish performance criteria for eligibility in interscholastic competition in his/her sport in accordance with state and district standards.
• Enforces discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times, and establishes and oversees penalties for breach of standards by individual students.
• Responsible for adherence to all DIAA rules and regulations as well as any policies and procedures adopted by ASPIRA Middle School.
• Represents the school and the school district in an ethical and professional manner at all times.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Advance education above high school is preferred.
• Must be CPR/AED Certified (Head and Assistant Coaches)
• Demonstrates interest in the aptitude for performing coaching duties for a specific sport or sports.
• Clean Criminal Background Check, TB Test and Child Protection Registry clearance must be completed prior to start of employment.
