Job summary

Shining Mountain Waldorf School in Boulder, CO is seeking an assistant volleyball coach for the middle school girls team. You will help run practices, develop fundamentals, and foster a supportive team culture aligned with our Waldorf approach.

Season runs Sept–Oct; practices 3:30–5:00; matches 1–2 per week; travel to away games. This is a part-time, in-person position; CPR/First Aid and PCA Double-Goal Coach certifications are required or provided.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching or coaching children, preferably teens.
• Some volleyball playing experience.
• Genuine enthusiasm for the game and for this age group.
• Reliable with full season commitment.
• Ability to collaborate with head coach and athletic director.
• Successful background check required.
• CPR/First Aid certification required (training provided if needed).
• PCA Double-Goal Coach certification required (training provided).

Responsibilities

• Arrive at least 15 minutes before each practice.
• Assist head coach in planning and leading practices.
• Run drills and skill stations focused on fundamentals.
• Work with players across skill levels, including a developmental group.
• Supervise athletes at practices and matches.
• Travel with the team on the team bus when traveling.
• Model PCA Double-Goal philosophy of effort, growth, and good sportsmanship.
• Assist with equipment and uniform management.
• Assist with basic first aid and emergency procedures.
