Job summary

Freedom Preparatory Academy seeks a middle school ELA teacher to introduce and develop mastery of literacy concepts through ongoing assessments and cross-curricular collaboration. The role requires partnering with staff to deliver rigorous instruction and to foster a positive, student-centered classroom culture.

Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree with TN licensure or reciprocity, and strong computer skills for data-informed instruction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Master's Degree strongly preferred.
• Valid Tennessee teaching license and endorsements in the hired content area -OR- Valid teaching license from a state with TN reciprocity.
• Enrollment in a certification program with eligibility for licensure by the program/district.
• Eligibility for Tennessee teaching license required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with other teachers to ensure cross-curricula and thematic alignment of curriculum.
• Communicate effectively and maintain strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
• Create and maintain positive classroom culture and community.
• Reinforce school-wide rules and plan lessons, curriculum development, and assignments.
• Use data analysis of student performance to inform instruction and improvements.
• Maintain accurate, complete records as required by law and district regulations.
• Participate in extended school day activities for collaboration and professional development.
• Work with Head of School and other leaders to support all students toward success.
