Job summary

Rocori Public School District is seeking a capable Middle School Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. You will instruct students in core subjects, align lessons with district and state requirements, and adapt instruction to meet diverse learner needs.

Collaboration with staff and ongoing assessment of student progress are key aspects of the role. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education with valid teaching certification and at least one year of public school teaching

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education required
  • Teaching certification in related field required
  • Minimum 1 year successful educational and instructional experience in a public school setting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts and relate them to practical situations
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers and parents
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of curriculum, instruction and assessment
  • Familiarity with varying computer applications and technology

Responsibilities

  • Develops lesson plans and provides individualized and small group instruction daily
  • Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to student maturity
  • Translates lesson plans into developmentally-appropriate learning experiences daily
  • Employs diverse instructional techniques and media to meet student needs
  • Guides learning toward curriculum goals daily
  • Establishes clear lesson objectives and communicates them to students
  • Protects students, equipment and facilities daily
  • Assists students in setting behavior standards for effective learning
  • Evaluates student growth and maintains required records
  • Identifies pupil needs and assists in developing individualized education plans daily
  • Assists administration in implementing district policies and maintaining classroom order
  • Communicates with parents regularly via newsletters, notes, calls, conferences
  • Plans and coordinates work of teacher aides, parents and volunteers
  • Maintains accurate records as required by policy and law
  • Serves on school committees as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

TEACHER-MIDDLE SCHOOL

Reports to: Building Principal
Department: Teacher
Works with: Students and Other Staff
Job Summary: Instructs students in Middle School education subjects appropriate to grade level and district/state curriculum requirements.

This position is for the 2026-2027 school year.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Develops lesson plans and instructional material and provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil daily.
  • Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
  • Translates lesson plans into developmentally-appropriate learning experiences daily.
  • Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
  • Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals daily.
  • Establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, etc. and communicates these objectives to students.
  • Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities daily.
  • Assists students in establishing and maintaining standards of behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere daily.
  • Evaluates students' academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records and prepares progress reports as appropriate and required.
  • Identifies pupil needs and makes appropriate referrals and assists in developing strategies for individual education plans daily as needed.
  • Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner daily as needed.
  • Communicates regularly with parents outside of the normal classroom day by various means such as newsletters, notes, phone calls, conferences, etc. daily as needed.
  • Plans, coordinates and supervises the work of teacher associates, parents and volunteers in the classroom and on field trips as needed.
  • Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulations.
  • Participates on school committees as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related.
  • Teaching certification in related field required.
  • Minimum 1 year successful educational and instructional experience in a public school setting.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers and parents.

Salary:

The salary range for this position is $50,164 to $89,853 - dependent on education and experience.
