Knox County Schools - Middle School Dance Teacher

Knox County Schools is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Middle School Dance Teacher at Vine Middle School.

Job Summary:

To instruct students in assigned areas as directed by the Board, Superintendent, and Principal.

Qualifications:
  • All teachers must be licensed according to state law and Tennessee State Department of Education regulations. The license must be on file with the Superintendent before employment begins.
  • It is the employee's responsibility to obtain and maintain a valid certification. If a teacher’s certification lapses or becomes invalid, employment may be suspended pending resolution, with the opportunity for a hearing.
  • Teachers should demonstrate competency based on current standards and evaluation models.
  • Superintendent may accept alternative qualifications as appropriate.
Essential Functions/Job Duties:
  • Report to the Principal/Supervisor.
  • Cooperate fully with all reasonable instructions and additional assignments from the principal.
  • Instruct students in assigned areas.
  • Accurately record daily attendance.
  • Follow state and local curricula, rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Maintain positive relationships with families and the community.
  • Keep parents informed about student progress and hold conferences as needed.
  • Report suspected child abuse or neglect to the principal.
  • Establish respectful working relationships within the school environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
