Job summary

Teasley Middle School in Canton, Georgia is seeking a long term substitute counselor to support student services within the School Leadership and Operations division. This role reports to the Principal and requires an active Georgia Educator Certificate.

The position is hourly with a TBD contract year and starts immediately. The successful candidate will engage students, monitor progress and collaborate with staff to maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment that supports diverse learners.

Qualifications

• A valid Georgia Educator Certificate in assigned teaching field as required by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate understanding of the curriculum and student needs with relevant learning experiences.
• Facilitate higher-level thinking skills through research-based instruction.
• Plan using state and local curricula to address the differentiated needs of all students.
• Analyze and use student learning data to inform planning.
• Create a safe, well-managed environment and high expectations for all students.
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals and district staff to support student progress.
