Norwalk Public Schools’ Roton Middle School is seeking an experienced School Counselor for the 2026-2027 year to design and lead a comprehensive K-12 counseling program that supports academics, career planning, and social-emotional learning.

The counselor collaborates with teachers, families, and community partners to close gaps in achievement and opportunity, delivers classroom lessons and individual counseling, and leads equity-driven initiatives across the school.

Qualifications

• 068 School Counselor certification/eligibility in CT.
• Master's degree in Counselor Education/School Counseling.
• Knowledge of evidence-based school counseling practices and interventions.
• Membership in state and national school and college counseling organizations.

Responsibilities

• Plans, delivers, and evaluates school counseling interventions to help close achievement and opportunity gaps.
• Delivers academic success skills to all students annually.
• Delivers career development skills including assessments, career clusters, and resumes/cover letters.
• Provides college access/ affordability/admission guidance for all students, including first-generation students and those with disabilities.
• Provides social-emotional skills development and wellness support for all students.
• Coordinates orientation for new and transfer students and families.
• Collaborates with teachers, school social workers, and school psychologists for student success.
• Maintains professional memberships in counseling organizations.
