Brown County Middle School is seeking a qualified School Counselor to implement a comprehensive counseling program for grades 6–8. The counselor will support academic achievement, career and college planning, and personal development while working with families and community partners.

The role emphasizes data-driven planning, collaboration with instructional leaders, crisis response, transition planning to high school, and coordination of Career Connected Learning experiences.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in School Counseling from an accredited college or university.
• Meets Indiana Department of Education certification requirements for School Counseling.
• Familiarity with FERPA, ASCA National Model and ASCA standards.

Responsibilities

• Uses data to develop and inform the school counseling program and evaluates its impact.
• Collaborates on development and management of the comprehensive program with instructional leaders.
• Delivers direct services to students (80% of time) with preventive and responsive services.
• Designs, implements and assesses the guidance curriculum and crisis response.
• Plans, coordinates and supports Career Connected Learning experiences and transitions to high school.
