Job Summary

• This position is responsible for introducing students to a variety of different forms of technology and computing concepts in younger grades and progressing into more advanced experiences in the older grades for the purpose of capturing their interest and developing their critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  
  

Duties And Responsibilities

• Lead students in an exploration of a variety of different forms of technology and computing concepts in a project-based learning environment
• Teach coding, app creation and development using the App Lab web-based program
• Utilize resources to engage students in technology instruction that might include: Project Lead the Way, Micro Controllers, VEX Robotics, Sprite Lab Animation, Computer Science Discoveries, Spheros, and Makey Makey Kits
• Guide students in basic game development using Bloxels and other relevant programs and resources
• Facilitate as students conduct research, develop a product, and pitch an idea to classmates
• Attend professional development and training related to STEM programs and methodologies
  
  

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills
• Evidence of productive experience with problem-based learning
• Evidence of planning, organization and time management skills that will bring structure and accountability to the position
• Apply science, technology and/or math content knowledge at a high level
• Ability to collaborate with teachers regarding student learning
• Understanding of student learning theory and differentiated instruction
• Background in either Math, Science, Computer Science, or Technology instruction. STEM background a plus
• Middle Level endorsed
