Job summary

Filer Middle School is seeking a dedicated coach for the boys' basketball team for the upcoming season. The role focuses on mentoring student-athletes, developing skills, and promoting sportsmanship in a positive team environment.

You will plan daily practices, manage the season schedule, implement game strategies, and communicate with players, parents, and staff. CPR/First Aid certification is preferred and a background check may be required.

Qualifications

• Coaching experience at middle school level or youth programs.
• Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals and rules.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes.
• Background check may be required pri or to hiring.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with other coaches and school staff to promote the overall athletic program at Filer Middle School.

REQUIREMENTS

• Previous coaching experience, preferably at the middle school level or with youth sports programs.
• Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and rules of the game.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
• Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
• First Aid and CPR certification is preferred or must be obtained prior to the start of the season.
• Availability for afternoon and evening practices and games, as well as potential weekend events.
• A commitment to promoting a positive and supportive environment for all team members.
