Job summary

MARRERO MIDDLE in Jefferson Parish seeks a Middle School Athletic Director to oversee the athletic program, supervise coaches, and ensure compliance with JPPSS and LHSAA rules.

The role requires leadership, coordination of practices and competitions, and reliable records management, with occasional weekend commitments. Starting immediately, salary is commensurate with experience and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate and/or CECP completion.
• Employment with JPPSS as a teacher and/or administrator.
• Must meet the requirements in Article 3.3 (Faculty Coaches) of the LHSAA handbook.
• Demonstrated expertise coordinating sports with the principal and Parish Athletic Director.
• Professional knowledge of LHSAA and JPPSS rules and regulations.
• Expertise in conditioning athletes and sport-specific coaching.

Responsibilities

• Provides overall supervision of the athletic program within the guidelines of JPPSS, policies, rules and regulations.
• Reviews purchase orders prior to principals' approval as required by the principal.
• Supervises expenditures of athletic funds as required by the principal.
• Maintains all records specified by JPPSS.
• Coordinates interviews for coaching positions as requested by the principal.
• Communicates and shares with all coaches any parish information.
• Ensures all student athletes have a current physical exam.
