Job summary

Hemlock Public Schools seeks a Middle School Athletic Director to manage game and event operations for all middle school athletic contests. The role oversees Final Forms communications between coaches, students and families and ensures eligibility oversight for middle school athletes.

You will recruit, hire, develop and supervise coaching staff, and build strong relationships with students, families, boosters, partners, and officials while serving as a positive ambassador for the district.

Qualifications

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary administrator responsible for game and event management for all middle athletic competitions.
  • Oversight of Final Forms ensuring effective communication between coaches, students and families.
  • Oversight of athletic eligibility for middle school student-athletes.
  • Recruit, hire, develop, support, supervise, and evaluate middle school coaching staff.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, families, coaches, boosters, community partners, conference representatives, officials and local organizations while serving as a positive ambassador for Hemlock Public School District.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and create a welcoming, world-class experience for student-athletes, families, visiting schools, officials, senior citizens, and community members at all athletic events and activities.
  • Promote broad student participation, sportsmanship, leadership development and positive educational experiences that place students at the center of every decision.
  • Support district initiatives and perform additional administrative responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Meet requirements for background check and fingerprinting.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in athletics, education, or related fields.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Valid Michigan teaching certificate.
  • Coaching experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of MHSAA rules, regulations, and compliance requirements.
