Job summary

Grandview Heights Schools in Columbus, Ohio seeks a Middle School Assistant Wrestling Coach for the 26-27 school year. You will supervise the boys’ wrestling team, assist the Head Coach with coaching, communication, and administrative duties, and conduct regular practices.

The role requires coaching experience, a pupil activity permit and CPR certification, a willingness to work six days per week with 15–20 hours weekly, and a commitment to student safety and positive coaching.

Qualifications

• Experience in the designated sport.
• Must meet all coaching requirements as specified by the Board of Education and OHSAA, including acquiring a pupil activity permit and CPR certification.
• Prior coaching experience preferred
• Van certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Supervise and instruct the boys’ middle school wrestling team of roughly 10–20 student-athletes.
• Assist the Head Middle School Wrestling Coach with coaching, communication, and administrative duties as assigned.
• Conduct regular practices for the team.
• Coach student-athletes in a positive manner.
• Ensure the safety of all student-athletes during practices and competitions.
• Develop practice and training plans for athletes with differing ability levels.
• Coaching will require six days per week including practices and contests; 15–20 hours per week is typical.
• Supervise and travel with the team to all contests.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Essential Job Functions:

• Supervise and instruct the boys’ middle schoolwrestling team consisting of approximately 10-20 student-athletes.

• Conduct regular practices for the team.
• Coach student-athletes in a positive manner.
• Ensure the safety of all student-athletes during practices and competitions.
• Develop practice and training plans for athletes with differing ability levels.

Working Conditions
