• Maintain good public relations with groups and individuals involved with the program.
• Support the Lake Athletic Booster Club.
• Conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times.
• Teach the values of good sportsmanship.
• Be available for Athletic Department meetings as necessary.
• Work through proper channels and protocol in referring parents or the public to appropriate administrative responses.
• Assume responsibilities of head coach in matters of supervision in absence of head coach.
• Pre-Season responsibilities: attend from first day of practice; supervise practices and games; assist with equipment; assist in conditioning as assigned by head coach.
• In-Season responsibilities: carry out duties; assist the trainer; scout other schools; observe and communicate with feeder coaches.
• Off-season responsibilities: assist with equipment inventory; assist with banquet activities; attend clinics; assist with conditioning program.

Job Description

Reports to: Athletic Director and Head Coach

General Description:

The position of assistant coach will be filled based upon input from the head coach, Athletic Director, and Building Principal and recommendation of the Superintendent to the Board of Education. The assistant coach must meet all provisions of the Lake Board of Education and the OHSAA.

• Responsible to Athletic Director and head coach.
• Attend all meetings scheduled by the head coach.
• Assist in the administration of the athletic program.

• assist the trainer with his/her duties.
• scout other schools’ teams as necessary.
• observe and communicate with feeder coaches in the program.

Off-season responsibilities:

• assist in the collection, storage, and inventory of equipment.
• assist with banquet activities.
• attend clinics when possible.
• assist with the off-season conditioning program.

Qualifications:

• Must possess a valid Pupil Activity Permit (and all necessary certificates).

Acts that are deemed as lude, sexual, or inappropriate will be viewed as unacceptable and may be considered as grounds for administrative action, dismissal, or termination of contract.
