The position offers after-school shifts (e.g., 3:00-5:00 PM or 4:00-5:30 PM) with an emphasis on teamwork, reliable scheduling, and positive student interactions. This is an internal candidates only opportunity.

  • Monitor student attendance, check-in, transitions, and dismissal.
  • Supervise students throughout the Middle School campus, including cafeteria, classrooms, gym and outdoor spaces.
  • Support homework, reading and quiet study time.
  • Facilitate games, activities and enrichment opportunities.
  • Assist with parent communication, pick-up and bus dismissal.
  • Reinforce Middle School expectations, including behavior and technology guidelines.
  • Maintain a safe, welcoming and organized program environment.
  • Communicate student concerns with the Director of MS OST Programs.
  • Maintain order in the MS cafeteria and common areas including playgrounds.
  • Attend work and arrive/depart as scheduled.

Job description

Position Purpose

Under the supervision of the Director of MS OST Programs, MS ASP Proctors support the daily operations of the Middle School After School Program by providing a safe, structured, and engaging environment for students. Proctors supervise students, lead and assist with daily routines and transitions, facilitate activities, and help ensure a positive after-school experience. Proctors are scheduled for the fall, winter, or spring season or the entire school year, depending on schedule and availability. Shift options include: 3:00-5:00 PM & 4:00-5:30 PM. This position is for internal candidates only.

Essential Functions
  • Monitor student attendance, check-in, transitions, and dismissal.
  • Supervise students throughout the Middle School campus, including the cafeteria, classrooms, gym, and outdoor spaces.
  • Support homework, reading, and quiet study time.
  • Facilitate games, activities, and enrichment opportunities.
  • Assist with parent communication, pick-up, and bus dismissal.
  • Reinforce Middle School expectations, including behavior and technology guidelines.
  • Maintain a safe, welcoming, and organized program environment.
  • Communicate student concerns or behavioral issues with the Director of MS OST Programs
  • Maintain order in the MS cafeteria and throughout the MS building's common areas of the campus, including playgrounds
  • Attends work and arrives/departs work at the appropriate times as scheduled
Qualifications
  • Ability to supervise groups in a safe and structured environment.
  • Ability to facilitate activities for children that encourage healthy growth.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to provide a fun, supportive, and caring environment for children, encouraging positive behavior and social skills.
  • Comfortable with a team-based work structure; ability to demonstrate flexibility on the job.
  • Demonstrates initiative, is conscientious, and provides complete follow-through on areas of responsibility.
  • Experience working with middle school-aged students is preferred.
  • Dependable, flexible, and comfortable working as part of a team.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
  • Be able to occasionally lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Regularly use close and distance vision.
  • Frequently stand and talk or hear and sometimes walk and sit.
  • Turn, bend, reach, and occasionally climb.
  • Work in a traditional climate-controlled classroom environment with moderate noise level and work outside

in all seasonal weather conditions (except extreme weather conditions)
