Gunvor Group in Houston seeks a Middle Officer to monitor PnL, validate and support front-to-back processes across ETRM, markets and operations.

The ideal candidate has 1-5 years in Middle Office for commodities, with strong Excel, SQL, and trading systems experience, plus solid communication skills and US work permission.

• Experience in middle office within a commodity trading environment with understanding of energy trading.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret market data and PnL.
• Proactive, rigorous and detail-oriented with good presentation skills.

Responsabilités

• Daily monitoring of trading Position & PnL.
• Daily pricing exposure reconciliation with trading and Ops.
• Validate position and PnL in a timely manner.
• Report position and PnL to management daily.
• Maintain information reliability in in-house ETRM system.
• Build and monitor forward curves in ETRM.
• Check accuracy of forward curves vs market values.
• Coordinate intercompany deals and reconcile futures trades.
• Liaise with Ops and back-office as needed.
• Monitor MTM of physical deals in ETRM.

Main Responsibilities

• Daily monitoring of the trading Position & Profit and Loss (PnL)
• Daily pricing exposure reconciliation with trading & operations (Ops)
• Validate position and PnL in an timely manner
• Report position and PnL daily to management
• Review and maintain information reliability in in-house ETRM system, including costs
• Build & monitor in-house forward curves in ETRM including front to back implementation for market assessment
• Check accuracy and consistency of forward curves vs market values
• Complete and improve upon daily processes such as market data checks, trade completeness and regulatory reports
• Coordinate and check intercompany deals with other desks/offices of the group
• Check and reconcile futures trades between ETRM and clearing agents & exchanges
• Liaise and coordinate as needed with Ops (or similar functions) and back-office
• Check and monitor MTM of physical deals entered in ETRM
• Allocate hedges in strategies, as the case may be
• Check & compare costs in ETRM vs Ops costs and invoices
• Monitor exposure/VAR and inform management in case of limits breaks
• Verify and reconcile end of month results with accounting
• Back up for other desks as needed
• Work with Front Office, IT, Ops, Finance & Credit as the case may be

Profile

• One - Five years' experience in Middle Office in a commodity trading environment with comprehension of energy trading, related trading experience can substitute
• Trading system experience, programming/SQL/IT skills seen as an advantage
• Experienced user of Microsoft Office with an emphasis in Excel
• Demonstrated business analysis skills
• Demonstrated knowledge of commodities
