Middle Office Associate I – Outsourced Trading

Position Purpose: Validation and verification agent for processing, settlement and reconciliation transactions for the Outsourced Trading group, with particular focus on reconciling trading positions, trade breaks, and allocations. The expectations of the Associate are that they perform their duties with a high level of attention to detail and excellent customer service. Additionally, the Associate is expected to cross train within the various other areas of their team to assist and help back-up those areas when needed.

Primary Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

• Reviews and ensures daily transactions are entered into the system of record, work to resolve discrepancies.
• Reviews trade break reports and work to resolve issues.
• Work with clients, Clearers, Third Parties and Trading Team to ensure proper post trade processing.
• Operate Clearer software systems/portals to process trades for allocation and settlement.
• Manage internal MIS reports.
• Assist in month-end reconciliations and accounting functions.
• Assist in Operational workflow analysis and reports.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, and/or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 1 to 2 years in an operations/settlements role, preferably with a global investment bank or asset manager
• Detail oriented and excellent documentation skills
• Working knowledge of securities (equities, FX, bonds, etc.)
• Proven analytical problem-solving ability
• Excellent customer service and communication skills (will be communicating with Senior Traders/Operations)
• High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
• Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects in a busy, demanding environment
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Able to work with a minimum of supervision while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations.
