CrossTown 119 is a small, nonprofit Christian school in the Parramore community of Orlando, Florida. We believe students flourish when they are deeply known, appropriately challenged, and given the opportunity to experience learning rather than simply complete it. Our classrooms are intentionally small—typically fewer than 10 students—allowing teachers to build meaningful relationships and provide highly personalized instruction.
We are seeking aScience Teacher for grades 4–10who loves science, enjoys working with students across different ages and ability levels, and can create a classroom filled with curiosity, experimentation, discussion, and discovery.
This position teaches four small science groups on our A/B day schedule:
Each class has fewer than 10 students, creating space for hands-on experiments, meaningful discussion, individual support, and the flexibility to follow student curiosity.
Our science program usesNoeo Science and Novareas foundations for a literature-rich, experiment-based approach. Rather than relying solely on textbooks, students learn through experiments, demonstrations, high-quality science texts, real-world connections, Socratic discussion, projects, guest speakers, and field experiences. Our goal is not simply for students to memorize scientific information, but to learn how to observe, question, analyze, problem-solve, and communicate their understanding.
We are looking for a teacher who bringscreativity, adaptability, curiosity, empathy, and joyinto the classroom. This person should be comfortable meeting students where they are academically, adjusting instruction based on student understanding, building strong relationships, maintaining clear and consistent classroom expectations, and collaborating closely with our Head of School, staff, and families.
Because CrossTown is a Gospel-centered ministry, this is more than an instructional role. Staff participate in the broader life of CrossTown Ministries through discipleship, Bible study, prayer, staff development, planning, and intentional investment in our students and community. We are looking for someone who genuinely desires to grow alongside the people they serve.
