School Faculty - High - Cardinal Gibbons HS

Cardinal Gibbons High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida has an opening for a qualified Science (Anatomy/Biology/Chemistry) Teacher to start as soon as immediately. This teacher will be expected to plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program for high school sciences in anatomy, biology, and chemistry. The candidate performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. Salary will vary based on certification and years of experience.

Responsibilities include:
  • Create hands-on, inquiry based, project-based lessons that build excitement to science.
  • Demonstrate scientific concept using models, technology, and other standards or teacher-prepared instructional aids.
  • Compile, administer, and grade examinations, lab experiments, and assignments in a timely manner.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum and lessons that will foster knowledge and skills essential to effectively teach students in the grades assigned.
  • Promote high standards and expectations for student learning.
Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of scientific field and strategies for engagement, instruction, and assessment.
  • Knowledge and training in lab experiments.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and demonstrated ability to engage students.
  • Bachelor’s degree in science, education, or related field required.
  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in science, education, or related field encouraged.
  • Florida Department of Education Teaching Certification in Science or related field.
  • Three (3) years or more of related experience.
  • Software skills in Google Suite, Notability and iPad.
  • Knowledge and skill in use of instructional technology, including iPads, in the classroom.
  • Excellent presentation skills with use of instructional technologies.
  • Excellent oral and written English-language communication skills, including clear speaking voice.
  • Must be supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church; experience in the Roman Catholic environment preferred.
  • Exemplified professionalism in behavior and performance.
