Midway Middle School in Liberty County, GA is seeking a Middle Grades Special Education Paraprofessional for the 2026-27 school year. The role supports classroom instruction and student supervision at MMS in Hinesville, GA.

The paraprofessional assists the teacher in maintaining the classroom environment, manages records confidentially, and helps with clerical tasks, health care procedures, field trips, and other duties as assigned. Employment is full-time and on site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate's degree or higher from GaPSC-accepted institution.
• Two years of college coursework (60 semester hours) above remedial level with grade C or better.
• Passing score on the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment.

Responsibilities

• Prompt and regular attendance.
• In person classroom instruction.
• Maintain the confidentiality of all student records, reports, and other documentation.
• Assist teachers with clerical duties, grading papers, preparing materials, typing and/or reproducing documents.
• Assist teacher with bulletin boards.
• Assist students with health care procedures including hygiene and daily care.
• Assist students with physical needs including feeding, toileting, repositioning, and mobility as needed.
• Works with individual pupils and/or small groups to reinforce skills taught by teacher.
• Supervises groups or individuals when the principal deems it necessary.
• Accompanies groups on field trips under supervision of the teacher.
• Assists teachers and the school program by helping with other tasks as assigned.
• Assists in supervising pupils before, during, and after school.
• Attend professional learning and staff development activities as needed.
• Performs such other assignments and duties as assigned by the supervisor and Superintendent of Schools.

Education

High school diploma or GED

Associate's degree or higher in any subject from GaPSC-accepted institution
