MIDDLE GRADES SOCIAL STUDIES LICENSURE

• Candidates must hold and be HQ in the middle social studies (78400) license area.
• Non-licensed, residency licensure candidates are eligible based upon holding a Bachelor's degree with a minimum 2.7 GPA, and 24 semester hours of related courses in social studies; OR passing PRAXIS II scores in Middle School Social Studies.
• Examples of related courses include: History, Political Science, Geography, Sociology, Law.
• Eligibility for the residency entry license must be established prior to a contract offer.

MIDDLE GRADES SCIENCE LICENSURE

• Candidates must hold and be HQ in the middle science (78300) license area.
• Non-licensed, residency licensure candidates are eligible based upon holding a Bachelor's degree with a minimum 2.7 GPA, and 24 semester hours of related courses in science; OR passing PRAXIS II scores in Middle School Science.
• Examples of related courses include: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Earth Science, Geology, Physical Science, Astronomy, Botany, Genetics.
• Eligibility for the residency entry license must be established prior to a contract offer.
