Our success is based on the client's vision coming to life and includes a team of Architects, Interior Designers, Landscape Architects, and support staff who play a part in solving complex design problems. We are seeking a Mid to Senior Design Architect who will add their skills and creativity to our diverse projects.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Responsible for developing a design that meets our client’s vision, scope, and budget of the project. Provide creative design solutions, monitor drawings through all phases of the project to ensure design intent, and serve as the liaison for the clients’ interests on the project teams. Coordinate design focus for clients, vendors, and consultants. Present and lead meetings, interviews, and other public speaking events.
- Guide the internal team and external consultants working toward the project goals.
- Mentor and direct the design work of the project team.
- Create Concept and Schematic Design.
- Coordinate building design while monitoring drawings in the Design Development and Construction Document phases.
- Initiate and create project design solutions internally with the project manager and construction scientists in partnership with clients, vendors, and consultants.
- Create and lead client presentations, adapting to feedback with interactive tools like sketching.
- Support or lead client or community presentations and interviews.
- Collaborate on architectural design projects and coordinate with project design efforts.
- Develop creative design concepts for projects of various scales.
- Support project kickoff and represent the client’s needs throughout the project.
- Incorporate sustainable design solutions into all projects.
- Lead projects independently or in partnership with project managers.
- Ensure design continuity during Concept and Schematic Design phases.
- Support business development and marketing initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned, with responsibilities varying based on experience, interests, and business needs.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Advanced creative talent in communicating complex conceptual design concepts.
- Strong understanding of building construction and detailing.
- Ability to foster mutual trust and develop client-designer relationships.
- Experience guiding internal teams and external consultants toward project goals.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in design techniques, tools, and principles for technical plans, drawings, and models.
- Knowledge of zoning, codes, ADA/FHA/accessibility requirements, and applicable design codes.
- Ability to create and conduct client presentations.
- Proficiency or advanced experience with MS Office, scheduling software (Team Gantt), Sketchup, Revit, AutoCAD, Lumion, and knowledge of Affinity Photo, Designer, and Publisher.
- Professional degree from an accredited program.
- Preferred 7-10+ years of professional experience.
- Licensure is preferred but not required.
- Satisfactory completion of a background screening.
