Job summary

Eurofins is seeking a Scientist for Analytical Research and Development Microbiology in Rahway, NJ. The role focuses on environmental monitoring of cleanrooms, EM data analysis, and QA collaboration to support GMP microbiology testing.

The position requires 2+ years in pharma microbiology (MS) or 3+ years (BS), strong communication, and leadership experience. Competitive salary with 2nd shift options and full benefits.

Qualifications

• 2+ years pharma microbiology lab experience for MS candidates; 3+ years for BS.
• GMP environment experience and microbiology testing knowledge.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Leadership experience in a team setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine Environmental Monitoring of cleanroom areas (Grad A-D) incl. surfaces, air and equipment.
• Conduct active and passive air sampling and surface sampling per GMP programs.
• Operate and maintain EM instruments (viable samplers, particle counters, RODAC plates).
• Execute aseptic sampling to ensure data integrity and contamination-free collections.
• Perform microbiology testing (bioburden, identification, endotoxin) on EM samples.
• Trend and interpret EM data; escalate out-of-trend results and assist investigations.
• Participate in deviations, root cause analyses and CAPA related to environmental/microbiological events.
• Document sampling activities with ALCOA principles; manage inventory.
• Conduct finished goods testing and Biological Indicator testing.
• Support sterile operations in QC; isolator use, method testing, endotoxin and enumeration.
• Collaborate with Quality, Pipeline and Operations; support audits.
