Job summary

Selector is building an operational intelligence platform for digital infrastructure. The platform delivers actionable, multi-dimensional insights to network, cloud, and application operators, enabling teams to meet KPIs with a search-driven UX and automated data pipelines.

Based in Santa Clara, California, this role focuses on hands-on deployment, customer collaboration, and contributing to POC plans, with opportunities for discretionary PTO, health insurance, 401k, and potential bonuses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or higher.
• 3-6 years of professional engineering experience.
• Foundational Python coding skills; Ansible or Go exposure is a plus.
• Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Learn and develop technical expertise on Selector's operational analytics solution for networks, applications, and security workflows.
• Support hands-on integration and deployment to meet customer requirements with senior engineers.
• Assist in deploying Selector's solution at customer sites and understand their data, workflow, and analytics needs.
• Help ensure customers are enabled for use and basic self-serve extensions of Selector's capabilities.
• Support pre-sales activities with the sales team and senior engineers.
• Contribute to design and execution of Proof of Concept plans under guidance.
• Document customer feedback and assist with product enhancement proposals.

Responsibilities

• Learn and develop technical expertise on Selector's operational analytics solution for networks, applications, and security workflows.
• Support hands-on integration and deployment of Selector's platform to meet customer requirements, working alongside senior engineers.
• Assist in deploying Selector's solution at customer sites, including helping to understand their data, workflow, and analytics requirements.
• Help ensure customers are adequately enabled for use and basic self-serve extensions of Selector's capabilities.
• Support pre-sales activities in collaboration with the sales team and senior engineers.
• Contribute to the design and execution of Proof of Concept (POC) plans under the guidance of senior team members.
• Document customer feedback and assist with product enhancement proposals to improve features and quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3-6 years of professional experience in a technical or engineering role.
• Foundational coding skills in Python; exposure to Ansible or Go is a plus.
• Basic familiarity with public cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Exposure to containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Basic understanding of SQL queries for data extraction and analysis; familiarity with Jupyter notebooks is a plus.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a desire to learn in a customer-facing environment.
• General awareness of networking concepts (e.g., Data Center, WAN, DNS, DHCP) — deeper expertise can be developed on the job.
• Eagerness to learn, a self-starter attitude, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Compensation

The salary for this role is $120,000 - $140,000. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including prior experience and job location, and may vary from the amount listed.
