Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Mid-Level Software Test Engineer to join our IRS EST program in Lanham, Maryland. You will perform functional, integration, and automated testing across mainframe, client/server, and cloud environments.

You will leverage tools like Jira, Xray, and various automation suites to develop test cases, execute scripts, and report progress while coordinating with stakeholders and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree and 5 years of experience or a Masters degree and 3 years of experience or an Associates degree and 7 years of experience or a High School diploma/equivalent and 9 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct functional and/or integration testing of multiple programs in an IBM mainframe, client/server or cloud environment.
• Proactively identify use cases for test automation within supported projects.
• Use test automation tools to execute test scripts that validate functional, technical, and performance requirements.
• Use Government or Contractor-developed documentation to construct test cases with predetermined results and test data to verify program functionality and/or interfaces through assigned systems.
• Review output to determine whether the test results fulfill the established requirements, and if necessary, notify the responsible programmers, both verbally and in writing, of errors, omissions, and inconsistencies in the programs and/or documentation.
• Coordinate test activities with project stakeholders.
• Coordinate work assignments to ensure timely and accurate completion of testing.
• Train other contractors or government personnel in use of automated testing tools.
• Execute daily testing responsibilities with initiative and self-motivation, demonstrating eagerness to learn new systems and domains.
• Adapt rapidly to new concepts and technologies, applying them effectively across ongoing and future testing efforts.
