Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Mid-Level Software Test Engineer to join our team supporting the IRS Enterprise System Testing program in Lanham, Maryland. The role involves functional and integration testing across mainframe, client/server, and cloud environments within Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid methodologies.

You will help identify automation opportunities and develop and execute test scripts to ensure secure, reliable IRS applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience, or Master’s with 3+ years, or Associate with 7+ years, or HS with 9+ years.
• U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident with at least three years of continuous U.S. residency.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an MBI clearance.
• Extensive software testing experience.
• Proficient in testing practices within multi-methodology environments.
• Experience with Jira and Xray, Atlassian products, version control and GitHub.
• Experience with test automation tools: Selenium, UiPath, QTP, HP-UFT, Rational Functional Tester.

Responsibilities

• Conduct functional and integration testing across IBM mainframe, client/server, or cloud environments.
• Proactively identify use cases for test automation within projects.
• Use test automation tools to execute test scripts that validate functional, technical, and performance requirements.
• Construct test cases with predetermined results and test data from government or contractor documentation.
• Review outputs to verify test results and report defects to developers.
• Coordinate test activities with project stakeholders.
• Coordinate work assignments to ensure timely test completion.
• Train contractors or government personnel in automated testing tools.
• Adapt rapidly to new concepts and technologies across testing efforts.
