Job summary

AV's Specialized Exploitation & Targeting (SET) Department in Dayton, Ohio, is seeking a mid-level Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain multiple code repositories for NASIC data analysis tools at Wright-Patterson AFB. You will contribute to production-grade intelligence products for warfighters and decision-makers.

Proficiency in C++, Python, Java, and Go is expected, along with Elasticsearch and PostgreSQL.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math, or a closely related technical field.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Active TS/SCI clearance w/ polygraph.
• 5-10 years of experience independently driving software design, development, coding, testing, and debugging for complex, multi-component systems.
• Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, and Go.
• Experience with large code bases, improving code quality and performance and navigating complex dependency structures.
• Experience with document stores, Elasticsearch or similar, and SQL stores such as PostgreSQL.
• Strong foundation in git version control, best practices and git hygiene.
• Experience in test-driven development.
• Experience designing and optimizing CI/CD pipeline configuration and management.
• Experience working with Jenkins build environment.

Responsibilities

• Enhance and maintain existing code bases for multiple applications and websites on both Windows and Linux environments.
• Lead and actively contribute to software design meetings and reviews.
• Mentor less-experienced developers on best practices.
• Implement unit tests and participate in functional test plan execution.
• Build and deploy software releases.
