Job summary

Solerity is seeking a Mid-Level Software and Database Developer to support IGC software development, modernization, and database activities. You will develop, integrate, test, and maintain secure components with emphasis on SQL, data modeling, and application-to-database integration.

Responsibilities include building RESTful APIs, optimizing complex SQL, and participating in Agile ceremonies. Hybrid work with on-site Scott AFB, IL, may be required for certain activities.

Qualifications

• Four or more years of professional software-development or database-development experience.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs, web services, microservices, or enterprise applications.
• Strong SQL development skills, including complex queries, joins, views, stored procedures, functions, and indexes.
• Experience with relational database design, data modeling, database integration, and application-to-database connectivity.
• Experience using Git and working within CI/CD and software-release processes.
• Understanding of Agile software development, testing, secure coding, and DevSecOps.

Responsibilities

Solerity is seeking a Mid-Level Software and Database Developer to support IGC software-development, application-modernization, and database-development activities. The selected candidate will develop, integrate, test, and maintain secure application and database components supporting global transportation and logistics operations, with emphasis on SQL development, relational database design, application-to-database integration, performance tuning, and database modernization support.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise application and database components, including RESTful APIs, microservices, and system integrations.
• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, schemas, tables, views, indexes, functions, stored procedures, and database scripts.
• Create and maintain logical and physical data models supporting application, reporting, analytics, and integration requirements.
• Troubleshoot application-to-database connectivity, data-quality, query-performance, and integration issues; perform query tuning, indexing, and execution-plan analysis.
• Develop repeatable scripts and processes for data loading, transformation, validation, deployment, and environment support.
• Support database modernization by modifying database objects, SQL, application queries, and data-access components for approved target platforms, including Amazon Aurora where implemented.
• Support schema conversion, data-type mapping, query remediation, data validation, reconciliation, and compatibility testing under senior database or migration engineering direction.
• Use Git and established GitLab CI/CD pipelines to build, test, validate, and deploy application and database changes in accordance with approved release processes.
• Apply secure coding and database-security practices and support applicable DoD cybersecurity, RMF, software-assurance, and STIG requirements.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, code and database-design reviews, sprint demonstrations, testing, release activities, and technical documentation.

Required Qualifications

• Four or more years of professional software-development, database-development, or closely related technical experience.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or comparable languages.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs, web services, microservices, or enterprise applications.
• Strong SQL development skills, including complex queries, joins, views, stored procedures, functions, indexes, and query optimization.
• Experience with relational database design, data modeling, database integration, and application-to-database connectivity.
• Experience with one or more enterprise relational database platforms such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Amazon Aurora/RDS, SQL Server, or comparable technologies.
• Experience using Git and working within established CI/CD and software-release processes.
• Understanding of Agile software development, automated testing, secure coding, DevSecOps, and continuous delivery practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience modernizing legacy application and database components for AWS or another approved cloud environment.
• Experience supporting Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL, Aurora MySQL, Amazon RDS, or comparable managed relational database services.
• Familiarity with containerized application environments such as Docker, Kubernetes, Amazon ECS, or Amazon EKS.
• Familiarity with Apache Superset or another business-intelligence platform from a database/data-layer perspective.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code or configuration-automation tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Ansible.
• Experience supporting Department of Defense, transportation, logistics, or other mission-critical enterprise systems.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related technical discipline. Equivalent directly relevant experience may be considered where permitted by the applicable labor category and contract requirements.

Security and Workforce Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related software-engineering discipline; or
• One of the following current certifications: Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), CyberSec First Responder (CFR), Federal IT Security Professional–Manager (FITSP-M), GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC), CompTIA Security+, or Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP).

Work Location

Hybrid. Work may be performed remotely or at the contractor facility when authorized, with on-site support at Scott AFB, Illinois, required for meetings, testing, demonstrations, classified-system access, deployment activities, or other assigned mission needs.
