Job summary

StratasCorp Technologies in Chesapeake, VA seeks a Mid-Level Shipboard IT Technician 2 to provide general infrastructure support, perform break-fix troubleshooting, and restore Windows systems and networks to operation on Navy ships and shipyards.

This is an on-site role with no remote options. Applicants must have an Active Secret clearance, a high school diploma or equivalent, and SEC+ or equivalent certification. Travel is required and PPE must be provided by the employee.

Responsibilities

• Perform or assist with new installations and / or life cycle upgrades for shipboard IT networks and equipment.
• Provide shipboard training to crew members as necessary for LAN and IT Equipment operation.
• Interface and coordinate daily regarding planned activities with customer representatives, shipboard personnel, other contractors providing specialized LAN or network communications support.
• Prepare and provide daily work reports.
• Respond to queries for ad hoc data and network configuration and inventory reports.

Job description

Our team in Chesapeake, VA has an immediate need for an Mid-Level Shipboard Technician (Non POR)/IT Technician 2 with demonstrated experience providing general infrastructure support, including responding to and updating trouble calls utilizing NESD; performing break-fix troubleshooting and analysis of problems; and performing repair activities in order to return equipment, Microsoft Windows systems or networks to normal operational status.

This position will be located on site at Navy bases, Naval Shipyards, and onboard Navy ships.

There are no remote or hybrid work opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

• Perform or assist with new installations and / or life cycle upgrades for shipboard IT networks and equipment
• Provide shipboard training to crew members as necessary for LAN and IT Equipment operation

Other Requirements

• Employees will be required to provide their own PPE (Hard Hats, reflective Safety vest) while working in a shipyard environment.
• Must be able to regularly lift up to 40 pounds
• Ability to travel is required

The anticipated salary range for this role is $68,000 to $72,000 annually. The anticipated salary range for this position is provided in accordance with applicable pay transparency laws. The final starting salary will be determined based on a variety of job-related factors, including the selected candidate's qualifications, skills, relevant experience, education, certifications, and work location (where applicable), as well as internal equity and market considerations.
