Job summary

A leading engineering firm is seeking a Mid-Level RF Spectrum Engineer to track and assess RF spectrum regulatory actions and provide expertise to Federal agencies. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field, along with 5 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. This position is primarily remote and offers a salary between $120,000 and $150,000 based on experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in satellite & cellular telecommunications industry.
  • 5+ years of experience in RF spectrum management engineering.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform complex engineering analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Track, assess, and report RF spectrum regulatory actions.
  • Provide expertise to DOC/NOAA on RF spectrum topics.
  • Participate in establishing spectrum sharing rules with federal agencies.

Skills

In-depth knowledge of FCC rules
In-depth knowledge of Radar Systems
Experience in coordination with Federal Agencies
Excellent written & communication skills in English
Ability to use RF engineering tools (e.g., Visualyse, MATLAB)

Education

  • Track, assess, and report any RF spectrum regulatory actions related to Federal agencies (NOAA, DoD, DoC, NASA)
  • Provide subject matter expertise to DOC/NOAA across various RF spectrum related topics and working groups
  • Participate and establish technical rules and procedures for spectrum sharing & spectrum coordination with federal agencies and international administrations
  • Assist regulatory and policy team in evaluating and conducting analysis on new rulemaking procedures and submissions
  • Conduct analysis & assessment of the RF spectrum environment (i.e., spectrum map) in the Radar Next timeframe
  • Conduct Spectrum Utilization Assessment, Radar System Modeling and Simulation and Interference Analysis and Mitigation Strategy
  • Establish technical parameters and standards governing the use of each frequency band or specific service, if applicable

Job Requirements
  • In‑depth knowledge of FCC rules, procedures, and rule‑making processes
  • In‑depth knowledge of Radar System
  • Experience in coordination with Federal Agencies (NOAA, DoD, DoC, NASA)
  • Demonstrated ability to perform complex engineering analysis
  • Ability to use RF engineering tools (e.g., Visualyse) and MATLAB
  • Possess excellent written & communication skills in English
  • Should be able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in satellite & cellular telecommunications’ industry
  • 5+ years of experience in RF spectrum management engineeringUS Citizen or Green card holder
  • Primary work environment is remote; however, domestic and/or international travel may be required
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (or related field) and a minimum of 5+ years of direct engineering experience
