Job summary

Jobgether SRL is seeking a Quality Assurance professional to lead test strategy and automation efforts across REST APIs and web apps. You will design scenarios in Gherkin, implement automated tests using Java, Rest Assured, and Playwright, and contribute to overall product quality.

Remote Brazil-based opportunity with cross-functional collaboration, CI/CD support, and a strong focus on continuous improvement, metrics, and quality practices within agile teams.

Qualifications

• Professional experience in Quality Assurance with a focus on test automation and software quality practices.
• Experience writing test scenarios with Gherkin and translating business requirements into testable acceptance criteria.
• Practical experience with Java and Rest Assured for automated REST API testing.
• Experience using Playwright to automate web applications.
• Ability to perform manual testing when required and identify issues not covered by automation.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating quality checks into delivery workflows.
• Experience using browser DevTools to troubleshoot issues.
• Knowledge of Git and GitHub for source control and test automation code management.
• Familiarity with Postman or similar tools for REST API calls and validation.
• Ability to work in Agile environments and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
• Experience coordinating integration testing across multiple squads to validate end-to-end interactions.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement testing strategies for QA across the development lifecycle.

Accountabilities

• Test Strategy and Quality Assurance: Define and implement testing strategies based on established quality practices, including the test pyramid, regression testing, and acceptance testing, ensuring consistent quality throughout the development lifecycle.
• Test Scenario Design: Write clear, structured test scenarios using Gherkin to support behavior-driven development and improve collaboration between technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Automated Testing: Develop, maintain, and execute automated tests using Java and Rest Assured for REST APIs and Playwright for web applications.
• Manual Testing: Perform manual tests when necessary to validate functionality, investigate unexpected behavior, and complement automated test coverage.
• Test Data Management: Create, organize, and maintain test data sets to ensure reliable, repeatable, and effective testing across different scenarios.
• Product Acceptance and Validation: Work closely with Product Owners during user acceptance and homologation phases to validate business requirements and confirm that solutions meet expected outcomes.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to understand business needs, technical implementations, and deployment plans, ensuring comprehensive test coverage.
• Quality Metrics and Continuous Improvement: Define, monitor, and analyze quality indicators and testing metrics to measure effectiveness, identify improvement opportunities, and strengthen testing processes.
• Defect Tracking and Root Cause Analysis: Identify, document, and monitor bugs, collaborate with development teams to investigate root causes, and establish action plans to prevent recurring issues.
• Continuous Testing and Integration: Support CI/CD and continuous testing practices, coordinating integration tests across different squads to validate interactions between systems and components.
• Knowledge Sharing and Best Practices: Participate actively in QA community and chapter activities, share technical knowledge, and promote consistent testing standards and quality practices across the team.
• Process Improvement and Autonomy: Contribute ideas, challenge existing approaches when appropriate, and proactively improve testing workflows while maintaining a collaborative and respectful team environment.

Requirements:

• Professional Experience: Previous experience in Quality Assurance, with a strong focus on test automation and software quality practices.
• Test Scenario Design: Demonstrated experience writing test scenarios using Gherkin and translating business requirements into clear, testable acceptance criteria.
• API Test Automation: Practical experience with Java and Rest Assured for automated testing of REST APIs.
• Web Test Automation: Experience using Playwright to automate web application testing.
• Manual Testing: Ability to perform manual testing when required and identify functional issues that may not be covered by automated test suites.
• CI/CD and Continuous Testing: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and continuous testing practices to integrate quality checks into software delivery workflows.
• Development and Debugging Tools: Experience using browser DevTools to investigate application behavior and troubleshoot issues.
• Version Control: Knowledge of Git and GitHub for source control, collaboration, and test automation code management.
• API Validation Tools: Familiarity with Postman or similar tools for making REST API calls, validating responses, and investigating integration issues.
• Agile Methodologies: Experience working in agile development environments, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and participating in iterative delivery processes.
