Job summary

NuAxis Innovations is seeking a Mid-Level QA/508 Tester to join our federal IT team in the United States. You will conduct functional and accessibility testing across enterprise applications, ensuring WCAG conformance and DHS Trusted Tester alignment.

Responsibilities include creating and executing test plans and cases, tracking defects, supporting UAT, and contributing to test automation efforts. A background in accessibility testing and collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or an Associate's with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• 3–5 years of software testing experience, with at least 2 years in accessibility testing.
• DHS Trusted Tester certification within 90 days (required after hire).
• ISTQB Foundation Level and IAAP CPACC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and traceability against requirements.
• Perform Section 508 accessibility testing using the DHS Trusted Tester process and automated scanning tools.
• Validate remediation using assistive technologies; document conformance findings.
• Log, track, and verify defects through resolution; support regression cycles.
• Contribute to test automation scripts and facilitate User Acceptance Testing sessions.

Job Summary:

Conducts functional and accessibility testing, WCAG conformance reviews, and supporting requirements analysis across enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and traceability against requirements.
• Perform Section 508 accessibility testing using the DHS Trusted Tester process and automated scanning tools.
• Validate remediation using assistive technologies; document conformance findings.
• Log, track, and verify defects through resolution; support regression cycles.
• Contribute to test automation scripts and facilitate User Acceptance Testing sessions.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field; OR an Associate's degree plus two (2) additional years of relevant experience.
• Minimum Experience: Three (3) to five (5) years of software testing experience, including at least two (2) years of accessibility testing.
• Certifications — Required: None.
• Certifications — Obtainable After Hire: DHS Trusted Tester Certification, within 90 days of assignment.
• Certifications — Preferred: ISTQB Certified Tester - Foundation Level; IAAP CPACC.
• Required Skills: Test planning and execution; WCAG 2.1 Level AA; accessibility testing tools; defect tracking; test automation; UAT facilitation; assistive technology usage.
• Preferred Skills: Federal accessibility compliance experience; Agile testing experience; requirements analysis.

Technical Environment

ANDI, axe DevTools, WAVE, and Colour Contrast Analyser; JAWS and NVDA screen readers; Selenium or Cypress automated scripts; Postman for API validation; Jira with Xray or Zephyr; Azure DevOps Test Plans; browser developer tools and accessibility inspectors.
