Job summary

FORKEY CONSTRUCTION & FABRICATION INC is seeking a mid-level Software Developer to build and support KitBoss, an in-house Python/Django MES. You will work on new modules, enhance the platform, and ensure production reliability in a small team with quick feedback loops.

You will design architectures, implement RESTful APIs, and optimize databases while collaborating closely with users and office staff on site in Cortland, NY. This hands-on role offers ownership and meaningful impact.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of professional web app experience.
• Strong Python 3.10+ and async programming familiarity.
• Hands-on Django, FastAPI or Flask experience.
• Relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and ORM knowledge.
• Design RESTful APIs and scalable system architecture.
• Git version control proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and ship KitBoss modules end to end.
• Design scalable architecture with caching and queues.
• Develop and maintain secure RESTful APIs.
• Optimize SQL Server schemas and Django ORM usage.
• Implement authentication and authorization.
• Write unit, integration and regression tests.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployments.
• Monitor production and provide user documentation.
